Veterans Park is the perfect place to come and take in the picturesque view. This park is located on the Intercoastal. It is where you go to take the pleasant cruises from downtown. It serves as a memorial for veterans of foreign wars. In the corner of the park is a sign commemorating the historic Atlantic Avenue Crossing over the intracoastal waterway. Close to Atlantic Ave is a beautiful sea life mosaic fountain.
Park amenities include a huge gazebo that must be rented in order to be used, meeting rooms, restrooms, barbecue grills, benches, bicycle rack, memorials to the the veterans, and a pirate ship themed playgrounds for the kids. There is a huge green area where the city can hold events like the art fair that was being held during my visit. The real highlight of the park is the gorgeous view of the intracoastal waterway. It’s such a relaxing spot to sit and watch the bridge open and close as the beautiful boats glide down the waterway.
