You can hire a Mate with a strong work ethic, excellent leadership, communication skills and extensive knowledge of deck maintenance and repair. Our yacht Mates are team leaders who supervise the exterior crew and assign tasks. They can help the captain navigate the yacht and may be able to replace Captains in their absence. Most importantly, they’re able to assist the Captain in getting on and off the dock safely, as well as anchoring while underway.
Mate job responsibilities also include cleaning, repairing, and maintaining the yacht’s exterior. They may also handle inventory and order deck supplies. Our Mates are experts at handling guest requests and complaints, which may involve coordinating with other crew members. They’re also ideal to setup up the water toys while you prepare to enjoy some time in the water. Mates are also known for going on shopping runs while the boat or yacht is at the dock.
